Press Release Detail
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, November 21, 2024 – Saudi Tadawul Group, the leading financial markets group in the MENA region, hosted a "Rings the bell for Climate" ceremony and announced the launch of the "STG Green Initiative", underscoring its commitment to promoting a greener Kingdom. This dedication to environmental and social responsibility aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goals.
To further solidify this commitment, at the event, Saudi Tadawul Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Vegetation Cover Development Foundation, "Morooj", a non-profit governmental institution founded by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture as part of the STG Green Initiative.
Under the agreement with Morooj, Saudi Tadawul Group has committed to raising awareness about the importance of the environment and increasing green spaces. The Group will also collaborate on increasing vegetation cover in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and implementing joint initiatives that benefit the environment. This underscores the STG Green Initiative's role in increasing the green landscape across the Kingdom and its contribution to the Kingdom's green initiatives.
Commenting on the launch, Nayef Al Athel, Group Chief Sales & Marketing officer at Saudi Tadawul Group, said: "At Saudi Tadawul Group, Saudi Tadawul Group recognizes the importance of environmental sustainability, and in a pioneering step, contributes to strengthening efforts to develop the vegetation cover in the Kingdom. That’s why we are committed to supporting the shift towards a greener tomorrow. The STG Green Initiative is a prime example of our beliefs in action: just as our capital market continues to flourish, so it will nurture a green landscape”
The Group is also dedicated to supporting the Saudi Green Initiative, focusing on increasing the Kingdom's green coverage by planting trees and enhancing its natural environment.
